Heritage Week in the Frontenacs

Heritage Week this year focuses on the arts and culture in our region. i am most happy to post here that our guild -- the Land O Lakes Artisan's Guild -- is the focus of the week's activities.

Festival Opening Luncheon – Monday

Invited LOLAG representative Speaker: Ken Waller on LOLAG & wood turning

Display: Wood turning, Digital slide show of LOLAG members’ work

There will be art work on display and for sale at Soldier's Hall as well as demonstrations of members' work. A slide show will also run each day showing members' works. There will be refreshments also.

A Gala Opening will be held on Wednesday, February 20, from 7 - 9pm at Soldier's Hall.

We welcome everyone and hope to see many of you there.

Christmas Show highlights a wonderful first year...

yesterday saw a wonderful crowd attend our first annual Christmas Show. it was held at the Verona Lions Club and we thank them very much for their support, and of course for the lovely lunch they provided at the show. Thanks Verona Lions!

the ornament challenge was a great success and was won by guild president, georgia ferrell.
the ornaments were wonderful and will be posted here as i receive them, as unfortunately i forgot my camera yesterday and so did not get any photos. here, however, are photos of the winning ornaments.

Our First Show!

our guild held our first show saturday in sharbot lake, ontario at the oso community hall.

it was a great success and certainly is a wonderful step toward reaching our goal of building a high profile successful community of artisans in our region.
